One aspect of my career I have gotten extremely enamored with is SEO. ( Search Engine Optimization). I am shocked that I am so into this… I was never a “word” guy…mostly into the visual side of things… I am finding that the way SEO works is always changing; you never know what the new rules will be. One of the things that compelled me to move toward SEO is that there can be many ways go about it. I am now at the point where I am looking to move forward in my career and find a position where I can delve into SEO strictly and work with larger clients to create a strategy for their online success. I just need to figure out where that will be and who has that need…if it’s you, feel free to contact me!
I want to find a position where I can learn more and work with SEO and Online Marketing. I am even willing to do an internship that is how much I want to make this career shift! If you are looking for a good eye and a mind like a sponge feel free to contact me!
Search Engine Optimization comes across as crazy Voodoo to most people but it’s actually an Art or Science of using keyword, content and links to your site as well as making sure your website is clean and set up to run properly “Optimized”… Turns out I love this stuff. I have spent my entire career being creative, thinking rules were made to be broken…then I ran across SEO… I get to think outside the box but have to play by the rules; it is the most creative thing I have run across.
Throughout my career I was a designer in a dark room creating layouts for the Art Director, Sure I liked what I did. But then when I worked up to a position where I worked with clients hands on and I realized how unusually customer service oriented I am, this turns out to be a great asset for any company.
I have been in the internet business since 1995 and have worn many hats; The Designer, The Developer, The Art Director, The Project Manager, and then the Client again. I know this industry and I have seen it all. Whenever I had a chance with my staff or companies I had the good fortune to work for I always have been recognized for my customer service skills.
It just comes down to respect. It’s just the little things like communication… get a weekly report on where their project is and what needs to be accomplished. Are there are any questions they need answered? Providing a link to see the where we are in the development process. It all comes down to being accessible. I will talk “Tech” with the team and “English” to the clients.
I took an online course for SEO and Usability…it was an 8 week class and I did the entire class in a day… with a GPA of 3.9. I worked in the field and learned these skills by just having to deal with it during my career. I am not saying I know it all… far from it. I just think I found an area that I want to pursue; this is my next career step.
