Website Highlights

These are some sites I worked on throughout my career as an Art Director. One thing about the internet is that nothing lasts forever and sites are changed and updated to go with the times. With that said some of my best experience that tough me what I know today in the internet field can be based off of sites that have long been gone. So I can show screen shots of the ones that did not last and let you know what we did with the sites back in the day.

Bigheartcards.com was a unique service that lets anyone send a personalized, store quality greeting card anywhere in the world. This web application is built on ASP.NET 3.5 framework, SQL Server 2005 and Flash for the interactive card designer that demonstrates Cambria’s expertise in ASP.NET and Adobe Flash integration. We made use of PDF library and image manipulation tools to dynamically convert card designs created in Flash to 300dpi PDF files.  It also has features such as uploading of contacts list automatically from Email clients such as MS Outlook, Mozilla Thunderbird; integrating the web application with offline services. Finally, the site has a secured shopping cart using Authorize.net with SSL, that store clients’ payment info to Authorize.net’s server for added privacy.

www.homeleafs.com and (UX Dev)  was the next generation of social networking built on the desire to end pre-foreclosures and bank foreclosures for good. How does it work? HomeLeafs.com is designed to bring consumers and professionals together to create positive relationships that assist consumers in times of need. Consumers create and submit a customized profile that outlines their current situation. They are then matched up with local professionals who can provide the right type of assistance. From there, consumers can choose which professionals meet their needs and start using their services immediately. It makes use of ASP.NET’s built-in membership platform, SQL Server search and Telerik RadControls.

My department developed the architecture for database, forms and overall functionality of the site. We developed a clean web 2.0 look for the site, currently the client has ability to update the site and have introduced some unattractive design elements. The sites functionality is what I would like you to concentrate on in this example. This was my first time as the “Project Manager” and Art Director and QA.

Job Behaviors
http://www.jobbehaviors.com is a site dedicated to providing free online career compatibility assessments for a variety of high-demand industries including Healthcare, Banking, Childcare, Construction, Transportation, Retail, Insurance, Sports and Sports Management, Education and Sales.  Jobseekers choose which jobs interest them, and decide whether to share their results and contact information with partners offering training and employment opportunities.  JOBehaviors is also for employers to help them identify high potential candidates who meet their company’s unique performance needs. Cambria is responsible for migrating the JOBehaviors site from classic ASP to ASP.NET.

I was the client contact and lead on this project. The client had specific requests and we follow instructions and gave UI input when needed. I was the Art Director on this project and had 2 designers working with 3 programmers on the back end. I arraigned and ran weekly update meeting for the client as well as organized the tasks for the staff.

Women in Technology
http://www.witmena.org  is a Non-Government Organization which provides IT Training for women in the Middle East. Our design challenge was to present a multilingual and multicultural site that would tie in the organization’s work in several regions. I created training CD’s in 6 Languages including Arabic and created an UX forboth left to right language base and right to left.

komenhttp://www.globalkomen.org Site: I won the proposal for the global Komen site and worked with the client to create a site with 5 base languages and still keep the Komen brand. I worked closely with the client to ensure meeting the deadline and proper translation with 3rd party team.

Stand Up Showcase  (Pet Project)

I build the site with word press then had my team in India implement the needed interactivity for the membership sections and admin. I designed the flow for the site with Viseo to make sure the communication with India went smooth as well as checking every link and detail for bugs.

The Site is a free site for comedians and promoters to post there information. The comedian gets what is called in their industry as a free EPK (Electronic Press Kit). This is their bio a head shot and place for a video. They can send this out to promoters and club owners.

Promoters of shows can list shows and their needs and the comedians can sign up for the event, the promoter can review the perspective comedian and contact them either through email or can check a box to inform them that they were no chosen. Promoters can easily promote their shows and open mic nights.

The Admin section is full of option for promoting shows, hiring comedians, placing a help wanted and reviewing comedians for their shows and communication with the comedians.

If this site works out all the bugs and gets through the testing period I will use it for actors and independent film producers and directors.  http://www.stand-up-showcase.com/
