Before we seriously start looking at houses, we need the financial side in place. If you’re financing, that means a current preapproval. If you’re paying cash, I’ll need current proof of funds. The number that matters
A lender may tell you what you qualify to borrow. I also want to know what monthly payment and overall housing cost actually feel comfortable to you. Those are not always the same number.
